The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea is located in Sydney, the capital city of New South Wales, best known for its iconic landmarks such as the world-famous Opera House and Harbor Bridge. We have jurisdiction over New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory, close to half of Australia’s total area.
New South Wales, Australia’s most industrialised and populous state is home to a multicultural society of 8 million people with diverse heritage and culture. It is also a long-standing home to the largest Korean community in Australia, with 100,000 of the total 180,000 Koreans in Australia, living in New South Wales.
Queensland is the second-largest state in landmass where the famous cities of Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Cairns are dotted along the 7,000km-long pristine coastline. It is not only home to 30,000 Korean people, but also a place where many Korean tourists visit to find sunny weather and enjoy the various beautiful marine attractions throughout the year.
The Northern Territory is full of epic adventure destinations and boasts the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Uluru. With sprawling desert and incredible outback landscapes, it is truly the ‘Red Centre’ of Australia.
